At a recent high-level meeting in London, US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng agreed to develop a framework for implementing the agreement reached at the first meeting. President Donald Trump mentioned the lifting of export controls on social media, but did not mention the specifics of the agreement.

The WSJ emphasized that China expressed its intention to maintain control over rare earth supply for future negotiations. In fact, China’s rare earth export controls have served as a powerful negotiating tool in the trade conflict between the US and China, and they are having a huge impact on the automobile, aerospace, and semiconductor industries.

“China will want to maintain its influence, and any agreement could be broken, putting American companies at risk,” warned Gracelyn Baskeren, director of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). Earlier, the US and China agreed to significantly reduce tariffs and lift non-tariff measures such as rare earth export controls at high-level trade talks in Geneva, but negotiations have since stalled as both sides claim violations of the agreement.

영상으로 만나보는 GalaxyFold 실버 + KT 첫소감

정말로 혁신적인 차세대 스마트폰의 디자인을 180도 변경한 제품인 삼성전자의 갤럭시폴드를 리뷰 해 볼까 합니다. 가격이 있는지라 참 조심해서 만졌는데, 처음에는 단순히 그냥 화면만 크겠지? 라고 생각했으나 만지면 만질수록 편리한 부분이 참 많은 것 같다는 생각을 하게 됩니다.

특히 영상을 볼때 상당히 큰 화면으로 시청할 수 있어서 좋았는데요. 그외 무엇이든 큼지막한 대형화면인 7.3인치의 크기가 유난히 커 보였습니다. 보통 삼성의 태블릿이 8인치 제품이 있는데.. 이것이 7인치가 넘는다고 하니 참 디스플레이 화면이 크긴 한가 봅니다

이번 갤럭시폴드 (GalaxyFold) 는 두가지 색상으로 출시가 되었는데요. 조금은 단순하게 블랙과 실버로 출시가 되었습니다. 제가 이번에 리뷰할 제품은 실버 제품으로 뒷면이 은색이라 생각하시면 될 것 같습니다. (앞면은 검은색으로 동일)

여러 통신사에서 저마다 5G 요금제를 내세워 홍보를 하고 있지만 저는 KT토커의 일환으로 이 제품을 리뷰하고 있기 때문에 KT 5G 첫소감이라는 제목을 달았습니다. 그럼 세계최고의 폴더폴폰 GalaxyFold 를 함께 살펴보도록 하겠습니다.

갤럭시폴드 첫느낌은?

이 스마트폰은 펼쳐지는 폴더블이 가장 강점이라고 할 수 있는데 처음에 보면 그냥 길죽한 과거의 디자인이 새로운 핸드폰 같다는 생각이 듭니다. 전면에 디스플레이가 작게 탑재되어 있는데 커버 디스플레이는 4.6인치로 요즘 6인치 정도를 늘 눈에 익힌 사람들은 좀 작다는 느낌을 지울 수 없습니다. 하지만 이 자체만으로도 충분히 핸드폰의 기능은 다 할 수 있을 것 같습니다.

단 조금 무게가 있습니다. 263g 이라고 하는데요. 조금 겹쳐있어서 두껍게 느껴지기 때문에 무게가 있어 주머니에는 들고 다니기 좀 힘들지 않을까? 하는 생각을 해 보게 됩니다.

특별히 실버 색상을 선택한 이유가 있으신지?

단 두가지 색상으로만 출시가 되었는데요. 모든 곳이 검은색으로 되어 있으면 좀 답답해 보일 것 같아서 실버 색상을 선택했습니다. 뒷면 만이라도 좀 은은하게 빛이 났으면 했거든요. 특별한 이유는 없습니다. 단지 모든게 검은색인 것이 좀 그래서 그랬다고 하면 정답일 것입니다.

디자인은 어떤가요?

전체적으로 보았을때에는 조금 두껍다 뿐이지 디자인은 좋은 편입니다. 특히 접히는 부분의 삼성로고가 굉장히 고급스러워 보이는데요. 이 부분이 디자인 적인 부분에서는 가장 하이라이트가 아닐까 합니다.

폴더를 열다.

드디어 폴더를 열어 보았습니다. 열면 조금난 열리게 되어도 안이 켜집니다. 필때에는 두손으로 피는 것이 좋구요. 중간에 흰지가 보이는데.. 실제로 사용하시게 되면 거의 신경쓰이지 않습니다. 단 조금씩 열고 닫을때에는 중간에 흰지가 이렇게 보이기 시작합니다.

스펙은 이정도로 정리할 수 있을 것 같습니다.

일단 상징성이 대단히 높은 제품이라 요즘 중고나라에서 300만원에 거래되고 있기도 하다고 하던데.. 많은 사람들이 이 새로운 스마트폰에 엄청난 관심을 두는 것으로 여기어 집니다. 세계 최초로 스마트폰과 태블릿이 하나로 만들어진 제품이라 상당한 상징성이 보이구요. 올해초에 미국에서 완성되지 못한 제품들의 문제로 인하여 보완하여 출시된 만큼 더욱 이슈를 담아내는 것 같습니다.

이번 제품의 화면은 정말 상상을 초월하는 수준인데요. 특히 모바일게임을 할때 정말 눈이 편리하게 게임을 할 수 있게 해 놓았더군요. 앱의 연속성이 있어서 작은 4.6인치 화면에서 하다가 화면을 펼치면 이어지긴 하는데.. 해상도는 조금 다르게 표현이 됩니다.

예를들어서 이렇게 접어서 게임을 하다가.. 펴게 되면 바로 이어지기는 합니다만 세로 화면보다 조금 더 큰 화면을 만나실 수 있구요. 이걸 종료 시키고 다시 실행하게 되면 화면이 꽉찬 모바일게임을 즐기실 수 있습니다.

3개의 카메라가 달려 있던데 카메라는 어떻게 표현이 되나요?

실제로 사진을 좀 찍어 보았는데요. 광각, 표준이런거는 이미 전 스마트폰에서 다 경험하셨을꺼니 생각하도록 하구요. 이렇게 표현이 됩니다. 그런데 이걸 펼친 상태에서 세로로 눞히게 되면 더욱 큰 화면을 볼 수가 있습니다. 단 왼쪽 위의 카메라 부분은 좀 짤려서 표현이 됩니다.

단 라이브 포커스는 있는데.. 동영상의 라이브포커스 기능은 지원하지 않습니다.

새로 출시된 노트10 에서는 동영상을 찍을때에도 라이브포커스가 작동되는데요. 갤럭시폴드의 경우 사진에는 표현이 되는데 영상에서는 그 기능이 빠져 있습니다. 그래도 꽤나 넓은 화면으로 사진을 찍다 보니.. 16:9 화면비율로는 안 찍어지고 4:3 으로만 찍어지는 것 같습니다. 또한 디테일한 면은 화면이 크다 보니 더욱 선명하게 표현되는 느낌입니다.

개인적으로는 이 GalaxyFold 의 최대 큰 장점은 가로로 눞혔을때의 화면 크기라 할 수 있을 것 같습니다. 어제 토튼험과 크리스탈 팰리스의 축구 경기를 폴드로 보았는데.. 화면이 커서 꼭 태블릿 보는 느낌이었습니다.

7.3 인치라는 크기가 아래위로 좀 짤리기 때문에 얼마나 클까? 하는 분들이 계신데.. 실제로 보면 꽤나 큰 편입니다.

갤럭시탭 8.0 과의 크기비교

8인치 갤럭시탭이 있어서 크기 비교를 해 보았습니다. 가로는 거의 비슷한 것 같구요. 세로는 탭이 조금 더 길어서 균형을 맞추는 것 같습니다. 7.3인치와 8인치의 화면 비교도 꽤나 차이가 나는 것 같습니다.

이번에는 노트10+ 와의 크기 비교입니다. 노트10+ 가 6.7인치 인데요. 가로의 차이는 좀 있는데.. 세로는 거의 비슷한 수준인 것 같습니다. 이정도의 크기를 가졌다고 생각하시면 될 것 같습니다.

이번 갤럭시폴드에서는 듀얼 겔 베터리를 적용하였다고 합니다. 4,235mAh 용량인데요. 설계도를 보면 두개의 배터리가 양쪽에 있는 모양으로 이루어져 있습니다. 또한 무선 배터리 공유와 급속무선 충전으로 언제나 급할때 사용할 수 있게 해 주구요. 생체인식 기술은 당신만의 잠금장치를 실현할 수 있습니다.

전체적으로 평가를 해 주신다면?

음... 처음에는 무겁기도 하고 과연 효용성이 있을까? 라는 스스로의 반문으로 시작되었는데요. 한 3~4 일 가지고 다녀 보니 상당히 유용하게 활용되는 것 같습니다. 일단 영상이나 모바일게임을 할때 상당히 편리하구요. 그냥 문자나 전화 걸때는 접힌채로 일을 보시면될 것 같습니다. 펼쳤을때 키보드도 인근히 편하고 화면을 분할하는 방식도 상당히 편리하게 되어 있습니다.

일단 삼성에서 혁신적인 제품을 생산한 것은 인정할만 하구요. 이번에는 그럼 과연 어떤 통신사를 선택하면 좋을지에 대한 이야기를 해 보겠습니다. 저는 당연히 KT토커이고 또한 여러 통신사를 사용해 보니 KT가 가장 편리한 것 같습니다.

KT 배터리 절감기술

기존 LTE 를 사용하시던 고객들은 배터리절감기술의 효과를 누려 보았을 텐데요. 보통 유튜브 같은 영상을 볼때 통신기능을 OFF 하는 방식으로 상당한 배터리의 소모를 줄여주는 기술입니다. 갤럭시노트10 의 경우 약 60% 이상의 절감효과를 기대할 수 있는데요, 영상을 주로 보는 갤럭시폴드의 경우에도 마찬가지로 이 기술이 적용되어 많은 배터리의 소모를 방지할 수 있을 것으로 기대됩니다.

KT 에서는 슈퍼할부카드와 슈퍼DC 카드를 운영하고 있습니다. 특히 GalaxyFold 의 가격은 상당히 고가라 기계값을 한번에 다 주고 구입하기는 상당히 어려울 것으로 예상이 되는데.. 이때 단말기 값을 지불하면서 일정금액 할인을 받는 카드와 통신비를 지불할때 할인을 받는 카드를 따로 만들어서 운영하게 되면 상당히 절약의 효과를 누릴 수 있을 것 같습니다.

예를들어 단말기 가격에서 한달에 2만원을 할인 받는 다고 하면 일년에 24만원 2년이면 48만원이죠. 이것이 단말기 가격에 포함된다고 한다면 한달에.. 단말기 가격만 4만원을 낸다고 한면 2만원이 세이브 되는 셈입니다. 요금역시 마찬가지로 같은 방법으로 할인을 받으실 수 있습니다. (단 일정 금액의 한달 사용금액을 사용하셔야 합니다. )

그럼 KT에서는 어떤 요금제가 있을까요? 5G 요금제의 경우 3가지가 대표적인데요. 일단 데이터로밍에 조금 자세히 보실 필요가 있습니다. 요즘 해외여행을 많이 가시는 분들이 많은데 출장을 갈때에도 따로 데이터로밍을 해 가시죠? 올해에 KT 5G 요금제에 가입하시게 되면 해외로밍을 따로 설정없이 무제한으로 사용하실 수 있습니다. (속도제어)

또한 수퍼플랜 스페셜 위로는 스마트기기 요금제 (50GB) 도 무료로 사용이 가능하구요. 멤버십 같은 경우 VVIP 로 승격하여 여러가지 혜택을 받을 수 있기도 합니다.

그런제 요금이 상당히 부담스러우시죠? KT에서는 가족결합상품이라는 것이 있는데요. 가족끼리 뭉치면 25% 를 할인받을 수 있는 제도입니다. 여기에 선택약정까지 더하게 되면 10만원 짜리 요금제리고 하더라도 5만원만 내시면 될 것 같네요.

단 이 가족결합할인의 경우.. 기존 결합이 어떻게 되어 있는지 꼼꼼히 따져보시기 바랍니다.

이렇게 KT 에서는 다양한 방법으로 요금제 할인을 비롯하여 다양한 혜택을 누릴 수 있는데요. ^^ 5G 로 오면서 아직 커버리지가 전체가 되지 않다 보니 조금 불만을 가지시는 분들이 있는데.. LTE 처럼 곧 전국에서 5G 를 이용하실 수 있는 날이 머지 않았지 않나 싶습니다.

이번 갤럭시폴드를 기점으로 이제 스마트폰도 다양한 방식으로 응용할 수 있다는 것이 실현되었고. 세계적으로도 가장 많은 관심을 받고 있는 기종이다 보니.. 한번쯤 경험해 보고 싶으실 텐데요. 처음에는 조금 어색하지만 큰 대형화면으로 보는 영상과 사진은 하나쯤은 가지고 싶다~ 는 느낌을 충분히 가지게 하는 삼성전자의 전략 스마트폰인 것 같습니다.

기본적으로 에어맥스 뒤에 붙는 숫자의 의미는 처음 발매된 시리즈의 그해를 상징하고 있습니다

나이키 에어맥스 1 같은 경우 맥스시리즈의 시작이며 1987년 발매를 하였고

시리즈의 처음이라는 의미로 1이 붙었습니다

그후 1990년대에 발매된 오늘의 주인고 나이키 에어맥스90

등 차례대로 현재 나이키를 대표하는 모델들이 탄생하기 시작했습니다 역시

에어맥스 의 전성기는 1990년대 라고 볼수 있습니다

나이키 에어맥스 시리즈는 그당시 러너 붐이라는

시대와 맞물리면서 엄청난 판매와 나이키의 규모를 크게 불려준 시대입니다

맥스90 같은경우 초판 버전은 정말 변색이 . .너무 빠르게 오고 변색되는 컬러가

생각보다 안이뻐서 이번 v2버전 블랙을 봤을때 오리지널 컬러보다 훨씬 이쁘다 . .

소장하고 싶다 라는 욕심이 생겼습니다

컬러는 블랙이지만 소재의 컬러의 명도 차이를 두면서

정말 고급적으로 느껴지는 런닝화 입니다

소재배치 역시 너무 잘했습니다 .

갤럭시 폴드(Galaxy Fold), 제품 디자인 및 스펙 공개

초기에 갤럭시 에프(Galaxy F)라고 알려졌던 삼성의 첫 휘어지는 디스플레이를 가진 스마트폰의 이름은 갤럭시 폴드로 이름을 달고 출시를 하네요. 사실 처음부터 제품 이름이 에프(F)라니, 실패작 느낌이 강했는데, 아주 심한 것은 피해서 폴드라고 이름을 지었네요. 주로 북미권에서 너무 안좋은 이미지라서 이름을 바꿨다고 합니다. 예전에 #애니콜 이라는 삼성의 #피처폰 시절의 명칭이 생각 나네요(영어권에서 애니콜은 부르면 달려오는 매춘부인 콜걸의 의미임, 삼성의 해외 버전 폰에는 애니콜이라는 명칭을 사용하지 않고 삼성 #모바일이라는 로고를 붙였죠).

어쨌거나 삼성의 접히는 디스플레이라는 기술에 집중한 F라는 명칭을 처음에 생각했다가, 다행이 그래도 이름을 바꾸긴 했네요. 뭐 근데 '갤럭시 폴드'라는 명칭은 전혀 근사하거나 괜찮다는 느낌이 없네요.

다행히 갤럭시 폴드 제품 자체는 우려와 달리 근사합니다. 처음 출시하는 접히는 디스플레이라서 뭔가 좀 허접한 느낌이 있을 것 같았는데, 펼쳤을 때 모습이 아주 자연스럽습니다.

거기다가 스펙도 짱짱해서 3개 창을 동시에 멀티태스킹이 가능하다고 합니다.

사진 속에 보면 유투브를 보면서, 왓츠앱을 쓰고 그리고 구글 검색도 같이 하고 있네요.

제품을 접었을 경우는 굉장히 슬림한 형태의 하나의 스마트폰으로 보이는데요, 갤럭시 폴드는 외부에도 디스플레이가 있어서 펼치지 않아도 기존의 스마트폰처럼 사용이 가능합니다.

뒷면에는 카마라가 3개가 적용되었는데요, 이번에 갤럭시S10의 경우도 외부 카메라가 3개가 적용되면서 카메라에 많은 노력을 하고 있죠. 디자인은 이정도면 훌륭하다 생각합니다.

갤럭시폴드를 언폴드하면(펼치면) 이런 형태가 되는데요, 펼치지 않아도 외부에 화면이 있었기 때문에 후면의 좋은 카메라를 사용해서 셀카를 찍어도 화면에 어떻게 찍히는지 보면서 촬영이 가능하게 되겠네요.

저는 이렇게 펼쳤을 때 모습이 디스플레이를 접었을 때의 어떤 느낌이 없이 그냥 태블릿처럼 보인다는 점이 아주 좋네요. 이렇게 펼쳤을 때에도 셀카용 카메라가 2개나 장착되어 있습니다.

자 그럼 갤럭시폴드의 스펙을 간단히 살펴보겠습니다.

다 좋은데 가격은 삼성이 처음 고생해서 만들었으니 "지대 갑부들만 써보고 싶으면 써보시오"라는 느낌이 강하네요. 아 이놈의 애플 팀쿡이 가격을 올리더니(아이폰이 화면 좀 키우더니 200만원에 팔았죠, 삼성은 휘어지는 디스플레이인데 그것보다는 더 받아야된다고 당연히 생각하겠죠), 스펙이 좀 좋기는 하지만 이제 스마트폰이 200만원도 넘게 되네요.

뭐 그래도 삼성은 애플보단 양심적인 가격이네요. 갤럭시폴드는 스펙이 내장 램(RAM)이 12GB에다가 내장 저장공간이 512GB나 되고, 휘어지는 디스플레이를 적용하고, 배터리도 8760mAh를 적용하고 200만원을 넘겼으니깐요.

뭐 어쨌거나 첫술에 배부를 수 없듯이, 첫 작품의 퀄리티와 가격에 집착할 필요는 없을 것 같고, 스펙이 좋고 나쁘골를 떠나서 저는 갤럭시폴드2나 갤럭시폴드3 정도 출시되면 하나 구매해서 사용해보고 싶네요. 지금까지 살아오면서 삼성의 첫작품은 다 실망스럽고 돈 낭비가 심했던 기억이 많아서 이제 삼성의 첫 폴더블디스플레이 적용한 갤럭시폴드는 첫작품은 피해가렵니다.

갤럭시폴드의 동영상도 아주 멋지게 만들었네요. 이 정도면 충분히 쓸만하겠다고 생각은 되는데, 가격이 프리미엄 스마트폰 2대 가격이네요. 삼성이 함께 공개한 갤럭시S10은 따로 포스팅 올리겠습니다.

What is an Android tablet with a keyboard, mouse, and pen? Well, it’s still an Android tablet. The Galaxy Tab S4 is the new flagship 10.5-inch tablet that Samsung is aiming toward people who want a device that’s lighter than an ultrabook but still has a keyboard and pen.

Samsung has done everything it can to transform the Galaxy Tab S4 into a “real” computer, even though it still runs Android 8.1. That strategy revolves around giving the Tab S4 a desktop-style environment with individual windows and improved multitasking called Samsung DeX.

THE TAB S4’S EXECUTION IS LAYERED

But turning an Android tablet into a hybrid doesn’t come cheap — at least not by usual Android tablet standards. Pricing for the Wi-Fi version of the Tab S4 starts at $649, which includes the S Pen. However, the keyboard is an additional $149. That makes a complete setup $800, which is $10 less than a 10.5-inch iPad Pro with Apple’s Smart Keyboard (minus the Apple Pencil).

You can also link a Bluetooth mouse if you already have one to complete the DeX experience. (And, as you’ll see, you kind of need to.)

Aesthetically, the Galaxy Tab S4 is a good example of straightforward industrial design for a tablet. It measures 7.1mm thin and weighs 482 grams (1.06 pounds) so it definitely passes as lightweight. It has a glass back and front, comes in white or black, and is well-balanced, no matter how you pick it up.

Since it’s mostly glass, the Tab S4 is a fingerprint magnet of the highest order. Once I wiped it off a few times, I realized Samsung still deserves credit: it’s a unique and good-looking tablet without excessive branding.

If you take a look around the Tab S4, you’ll notice the gold contacts on the edge of the long side (meant for the keyboard), a volume rocker, power button, microSD card slot, 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB-C fast charging port.

The one major takeaway I have from using the Galaxy Tab S4 hardware is how beautiful the screen is. It’s a 10.5-inch, 2560 x 1600 sAMOLED display. (Yes, Samsung rebrands the tech its displays use.) Brightness can be cranked up to the max, and it still produces an image with tons of contrast and saturation without blacks looking washed out. The crisp image the Tab S4 produces means that it’s highly suitable for photo retouching, drawing doodles, or watching the new season of Luke Cage.

IF YOU’RE INTO HEAVY SATURATION AND CONTRAST ON SCREENS, THIS IS IT

The Tab S4 definitely has one of the best-looking tablet displays of the year, and it’s not just because of Samsung’s use of display tech and color balancing. The bezels on the sides have shrunk compared to last year’s Galaxy Tab, so it’s more visually striking and immersive to look at. However, if you appreciate more color-accurate screens, there’s a chance you might not like the Tab S4’s oversaturated color profile.

On its own, the Tab S4 is a powerful media-consumption device. But Samsung’s real goal for this tablet is to make it a productivity device. The $149 keyboard doubles as a stand and case for the Tab S4, but you can’t adjust the angle, so it only really works in one position.

On the left side of the keyboard, there’s a removable S Pen holder, but it feels chintzy. It sometimes can accidentally snap off before you have to snap it back on again, and it’s an odd place to cut corners.

Another oddity: there’s no trackpad. So if you really want to take advantage of the DeX desktop mode, you’ll need your own Bluetooth mouse, or you can use the S Pen as a mouse replacement, which is awkward.

EVERYTHING BUT A TRACKPAD

If there’s a bright side, it’s that typing feels decent. It doesn’t have a lot of travel, but it isn’t as shallow as the MacBook Pro’s butterfly keyboard. However, the keys are incredibly small, and despite having young, nimble fingers, I often struggled to hit the backspace key quickly or get used to the even smaller number row. If you want to send dozens of emails with the Tab S4 keyboard every day, you should practice a lot to commit the layout to your muscle memory. Also, the keys aren’t backlit, so using the Tab S4 keyboard at night is a crapshoot.

TECHNICALLY, YOU HAVE AN EMOJI BUTTON

One pleasant surprise was Samsung’s decision to include an on-screen keyboard button, which brings up a small version of the native full-screen Android keyboard when you’re in DeX mode. It’s helpful if you want to add emoji, type using your voice, and add GIFs or stickers.

The only included accessory, other than a charger, is the S Pen. This year, it’s been redesigned for the Tab S4. Design-wise, it reminds me of a faux Montblanc pen, but Samsung prefers calling it “refined.” And it is! It’s lightweight, balances in your fingertips like a real pen, and has a soft tip. It tracks very well and reminds me less of the Galaxy Note’s S Pen and more like the Surface Pen, which is often used by artists for professional design work.

Our resident talented artist and Circuit Breaker reporter Dami Lee drew a quick doodle and said it “felt better and more natural than an Apple Pencil.” While you can’t flip the pen over to use it as a digital eraser, it does support Samsung’s Air Command features. You can annotate screenshots, write out notes, draw, sign documents, and do pretty much anything else a digital pen is meant for.

THE NEW S PEN IS GREAT FOR ARTISTS

DeX is Samsung’s specialized software for giving Android a desktop interface, with windows, browser tabs, and a taskbar. On the Tab S4, it’s available as just another mode, whereas on Samsung phones, you have to plug into a weird dock to enable it.

Samsung DeX is going to be one of the Tab S4’s biggest selling points and for good reason. It’s amazing what Samsung has accomplished with Android here.

You can have a dozen Android apps open at a time in an environment where you can resize them as windows, move them around, go full-screen with just one, or have the option of projecting the whole thing on an external TV / monitor.

IT’S SNAPPY, AND THAT’S GOOD

There’s still a downside: Android apps optimized for tablets are few and far between, and those that do exist definitely haven’t been designed or optimized to run on the Tab S4 in DeX mode.

Performance-wise, I had some concerns about Samsung using an older Snapdragon 835 chipset with only 4GB of RAM, but I haven’t come across crashes or lag at all. Overall performance doesn’t become an issue until you hit a dozen apps running at the same time. At that point, I noticed resizing windows wasn’t as snappy, but the Tab S4 still persisted and didn’t crash.

Of course, there are some holes in Samsung’s execution of DeX. For example, you have to reopen all the apps you were working from when you switch between the Android and DeX interface, unless you enable the “DeX Labs” feature, which carries them over (but not always).

There’s also the fact that some Android apps, like Netflix or Pokémon Go, don’t seem to work with DeX. It can’t run them full-screen even if you enable a DeX Labs feature that forces non-supported apps to resize. Still, most Android apps should play nice — hopefully.

SAMSUNG DEX DOESN’T PLAY WELL WITH EVERY APP

The most unusual peripheral for an Android tablet is probably a Bluetooth mouse. DeX makes good use of a mouse because you can right click on apps in the taskbar to close them or otherwise access options that would usually be hidden with a long press. What’s unusual is that a mouse is really necessary to make the most of DeX, which makes the whole thing feel a little less portable.

Is using the Tab S4 in default Android tablet mode worth it? Only if you can’t use the app in DeX mode or if you don’t have a keyboard. Otherwise, there’s really no reason to use it like you would most Android tablets. Screen real estate isn’t utilized as efficiently, so DeX is the only point where the Tab S4’s software really shines.

For those of you wondering about Bixby, Samsung’s often-delayed virtual assistant: it’s delayed. Samsung says Bixby should launch for the Tab S4 next year.

The Tab S4 has great cameras on the front and back. (I’ll save what I think about taking pictures on a tablet for another time.) The main 13-megapixel camera can shoot 4K up to 30 fps, while the front-facing supports up to 1080p HD.

On the front, the Tab S4 also houses the sensors for its iris and face scanner unlocking feature. These are hit or miss because the Tab S4 doesn’t always “see” my face if I’m using it with the keyboard and the desk I’m at is too low. However, it does sometimes work in pitch black darkness, so that’s kind of nice.

FACE UNLOCKING IS HIT OR MISS

Most of the Tab S4’s weight comes from the massive 7,300mAh battery. Samsung advertises 16 hours of battery life using the Tab S4 for video and productivity. That’s not far off: I got around 15 hours of use before hitting critical battery levels by binge-watching on Netflix and writing out the occasional Slack message or email with the keyboard. If you use the Tab S4 conservatively (no GPS, Bluetooth, and 50 percent brightness) it shouldn’t be difficult to hit the 16-hour mark.

IT’S MISSING THINGS THAT YOU HAVE TO BUY

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 is a great effort to make the ideal Android tablet. Samsung DeX makes the Tab S4 truly special, but the lack of optimized apps for Android and DeX modes means your software choices are quite limited. Samsung did a remarkable job of making the Tab S4 seem like it’s more than the sum of its parts. I just wish the parts were better.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 is a multifaceted device designed to meet any productivity need and delivers a lot, yet it falls just short of reestablishing the tablet as an essential consumer product level with smartphones or notebooks.

It took a while for tablets to settle on the 10.5-inch screen size. What companies haven't settled on when it comes to tablets is what they can do that smartphones and notebooks can't. Samsung's answer by way of the Galaxy Tab S4 seems to be that it is more versatile, and therefore, an on-the-go productivity booster more than anything else. After a month of use, I found charm in the Tab S4 -- mainly due to its attachable keyboard and the lush 10.5-inch AMOLED screen that brings out the best for multi-window tasks -- but it fell just short of becoming a must-have.

1. Battery

The best part about the Tab S4 is really its battery. At 7,300mAh compared to the Tab S3's 6,000mAh, Samsung delivers the numbers. Both casual use and word-processing-heavy tasks can be done easily throughout the day without having to worry about charging.

As a portable device, I feel this is the best quality, as it allows professionals to focus on their task at hand and start charging once they return home or back to the office. It brings a nice rhythm to daily routines -- important for continuous productivity for workers. I took the Tab S4 with me for couple of business trips that included staying two to three days in hotels and I only had to charge once I returned to the room at night after my long day.

That's not to say it's perfect. Watching YouTube or using the split screen option on tablet mode and opening multiple windows on Samsung DeX mode brought about a noticeably faster battery drain. I would say on-the-go use that's focused on power points or words could handle seven to nine hours easily; once the graphics card starts pitching in work, this falls down to five to six hours fast. Still, with quick charging to boot, it is a considerable improvement compared to its predecessors and on par with or better than the top smartphones out there.

2. Keyboard

The attachable keyboard has some die-hard haters, but the Tab S4's Book Cover Keyboard, sold separately, really brings out the best in the tablet. Long-time tablet users who are more used to the on-screen keyboard set-up may disagree, but newcomers may find the keyboard refreshing.

With the Tab S4, you are basically learning a brand new keyboard layout -- the main reason attachable keyboards have strong detractors -- and initially I was forced to take my eyes away from the screen to look for keys that are't included. But a week or two in, it wasn't as big a bother as I thought it would be. Plus, the keys' tapping sound and their right amount of resistance made me feel like I was doing some real work.

There wasn't an instance when I wanted to resort to the on-screen keyboard, and I returned to the physical keyboard for both play and work no matter where I was. My hands played mouse; the best part was using them with the keyboard when it came to internet searches and split-screen tasks. Plus, for Samsung Dex, the keyboard is a must, but more on that later.

The big downside is that the keyboard is sold separately. Having Samsung DeX, among other things, makes the keyboard an essential tool to tap into the full potential of the Tab S4 and selling it separately at a $149.99 price tag (the Tab S4 itself costs $649.99) feels expensive.

The keyboard-plus-tablet set-up still falls short against other notebooks, and although it is more portable, there is room for improvement. If Samsung wants its tablets established as professional tools, I feel the keyboard should be given for free to foster more fans. Or, if they are demanding that price tag, it should somehow be upgraded to have keys and the overall experience closer to its desktop counterpart.

3. 10.5-inch AMOLED screen

Samsung is known for its top-of-the-line hardware in its flagships, especially in displays, and the Tab S4's 10.5-inch AMOLED screen is gorgeous. The bezel is narrower compared to its predecessor and the black model I used, coupled with the beautiful screen, really made the tablet seem like a premium device. The contrast ratio is great and bright colours and the real black all stand out without feeling saturated. The cinema mode makes images even more natural for media consumption, though I rarely used it.

The aspect ratio is 16:10, wider than Tab S3's 4:3, and this is better for watching media content. Is this an enormous plus? Not really, since almost every other device, including smartphones, notebooks, and monitors, are going down that route, so it is expected.

But that wider birth really shines when using multi-window or split screen. The Tab S4 basically incorporates most of the multitask features on the Galaxy Note series and it shines here. The split screen used in combo with the keyboard is when this tablet really deserves the moniker of "productivity booster". And the 10.5-inch really offered enough space for each split screen to lessen the need for scrolling. While I rarely use the split screen on my Galaxy Note 8 because I feel there isn't enough space for two screens, with the Tab S4 it's like having two smartphones side by side. For some tasks I would say it could beat the speed of a desktop.

4. S-Pen

Samsung seems to have intentionally sought out a Montblanc-like design for the Tab S4's S-Pen, which is more rounded and thicker compared to those in the Galaxy Book and Galaxy Note 8 and 9. I am sure this is an intentional design choice to match the productivity theme of the Tab S4 for a more professional or business-oriented look, but it doesn't feel that way once you start using it. It's light, doesn't have heft, and the overall colour comes off as more plastic than premium.

The stylus is very functional and does everything that its cousins can do in other Samsung devices; users can take notes, draw, and use it for search and translate like in the Note series. However, being a Galaxy Note 8 user, I found the sensitivity for Tab S4's pen slightly lacking in comparison. It could be that the ball point is thicker, but I found highlighting and dragging to be more laborious than on the Note, and less accurate. But it does its job. And it's hard to complain too much, since it's included.

It also has a dedicated socket on the left side and the S-Pen doesn't require charging -- a better choice than some of its competitors; Microsoft's Surface Go Pen uses a disposable battery, for example.

5. Samsung DeX

I had high expectations for Samsung DeX on the Tab S4, and after using DeX mode, I am convinced that the desktop-style is more suited to the tablet than the smartphone. The biggest upside is now you can open multiple windows, and the Tab S4 handles them easily, despite having a Snapdragon 835 instead of the newer 845 that's on the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9.

I have a habit of just opening new windows endlessly instead of, perhaps more wisely, using a tab on the same window. With the Tab S4, there weren't any noticeable slowdowns after opening over 10 windows. The ability to just do this on a tablet was refreshing in its own way.

That being said, there really isn't much to do on the mode besides surfing the internet since there aren't enough Android-optimised apps; I found myself doing the same things I do in tablet mode. I feel the next iteration should offer users more to do here if this tablet wants to be level with Windows or iOS.

6. No home button, and that's OK I guess

Samsung has rid the home button to match the aesthetics of its recent smartphones. It definitely helps the look of the front of the tablet. However, this has also meant getting rid of the fingerprint sensor, therefore forcing users to use the iris scanner (they can add Intelligence Scan, which scans both eyes and facial features). The company's logic seems to be that the iris scanner is more intuitive, and while it works fine, I feel both options should have been offered on a premium device such as this for more user choice.

The scanner is located near top of the tablet where the 8MP front camera is, and I had to lean sideways to unlock it. What would have been pretty awesome is if I had left my seat and it had the ability to scan me and unlock right away upon my return. If the fingerprint scanner isn't coming back, I would like the facial scanner upgraded so it can read eyes and faces from the side.

7. Harman AKG quad speaker

The Tab S4 has a quad audio system that is AKG tuned, which is new to Samsung's tablet line. It also has Dolby ATMOS to help out when you want to watch a movie or two. It's richer than what came before and than what's offered on the company's smartphones, but not as cinematic as I hoped it would be.

Samsung really hasn't gotten audio down, and I think it mostly comes down to hardware design. Hopefully for the next iteration the company can tune the speakers to offer more booming sounds.

8. Mostly work, with a little play

There are other miscellaneous features packed in, like the 13MP back and 8MP front camera. The microSD slot is welcomed and the tablet comes in 64GB and 256GB internal storage. The Galaxy Note 9 comes in a 512GB model so the same premium speed would have been welcomed on the Tab S4, but it seems the company decided against it, either due to cost issues or to avoid stealing the thunder from the Note 9. But more internal storage would have gone well with Samsung DeX; desktop features are there to handle the heavy-duty work that eats more memory.

Having the Qualcomm 835, which launched last year, and 4GB RAM, I feel can handle any productivity or multimedia task. After all, mobile device specs are currently overkill. The Daily Board feature where the tablet acts as a calendar and clock when docked on the charging pad isn't bad, but because my alarm is set on the smartphone it's never really the first screen I look for.

Now a minor problem I have with the Tab S4 is that it's really all about work, not play. As with the Galaxy Note series, Samsung is promoting the productivity aspect of this tablet, and it definitely delivers a lot in that regard. In essence, play usually refers to multimedia consumption or gaming, but the Tab S4 doesn't seem to boast any advantage in that sense. Yes, the 10.5-inch AMOLED display is gorgeous, but so are other Samsung premium products and high-end monitors that most consumers may already own.

Perhaps Samsung can add a dedicated button (since the Tab S4 doesn't have a Bixby button) that switches back and forth between work and play, as well as a more simple, intuitive interface for the "Play Mode", such as having a game launcher, or even another version that would otherwise make jumping into play mode a bit easier.

9. Conclusion: A worthy go-to device that's pricey

The Galaxy Tab S4 tries hard to be a must-have device for the modern day enterprise user, and while it succeeds in many areas, it fails in others. I am sold on the advantages that tablets can bring over smartphones and notebooks when it comes to portability and productivity. There is a role to play for a 10.5-inch screen on a tablet that can't be achieved by that on a six-inch smartphone or 13-inch notebook. I love the Tab S4's adaptability and versatility offered by its wide screen and accessories such as the keyboard and stylus that can be used in combination. But the goal post here is Apple's iPad Pro, and Samsung simply succeeds in offering an equivalent Android product that will be welcomed by Android users.

That being said, the biggest obstacle is price. It costs $649.99. In South Korea, the tablet is offered with 6GB RAM and costs 792,000 won with 64GB internal storage. With added accessories such as the keyboard or possibly an HDMI cable to link Samsung DeX with a monitor, that price climbs higher than a premium smartphone.

If Samsung is aiming to consolidate hardcore fans, it might succeed, but for it to become a mass device, either $100 should be cut from the price tag or the company should add more premium features to later iterations, such as more play content or free accessories.

What is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4?

If you’re on the hunt for an Android tablet with specs to match Apple’s iPad Pro 10.5 then options will have been thin on the ground recently. Huawei’s MediaPad M5 8.4 and Huawei MediaPad M5 Pro offer decent specs and features, while Amazon’s Fire HDrange have the mid-range covered. But high-end Android tablets are rare.

That’s where Samsung and its Tab S4 come in. This device is as high-end as you can get: a fast processor, a gorgeous HDR OLED and the S-Pen included. It even manages to swerve the normally quite poor Android interface with some smart software choices.

Pricing starts at £599/$649 for the 64GB model, with an extra £50 netting you the LTE version. If you’re in the US, expect to see the LTE version later in the year. The keyboard ‘Book Cover’ costs an additional £119/$149.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 – Design

There’s a whole lot to like about the Tab S4. However, its design and build aren’t on that list. It’s a design that works exceptionally well for phones, but not so much for tablets.

My biggest concern is the glass rear. Not only do I fear that it will become damaged every time I put the device into my bag uncovered, but it’s super-slippery, even after only a few minutes of holding it. Any oily residue on your hands will instantly transfer onto the glass, leaving the device a smudge-covered mess. The cool feel of metal is far more reassuring on a tablet.

Latest

At least the device is thin and light. Slipping it in a bag will result in no noticeable weight gain, and I could hold it in one hand whilst scribbling some notes without feeling any strain.

The rest of the rear is clean, with a camera and flash, Samsung branding and a ‘Tuned by AKG’ logo. My review unit was a glossy black, and there’s a whitey/grey version available too.

Around the metal sides you’ll find a volume rocker, standby switch and a set of POGO pins for connecting up the Book Keyboard Cover, which is sold separately. A USB-C port sits along the bottom edge, flanked by a 3.5mm headphone port.

Galaxy Tab S4

Easily the biggest omission is the home button, which has been a mainstay of the Tab line. It’s been ditched here in favour of a larger screen with a thinner bezel, and it’s a good move. There’s very little need for a dedicated home key here and in my experience, I haven’t found fingerprint sensors on tablets all that useful.

Those after extra protection will be pleased to learn that the Tab S4 features the same iris scanner as the Samsung Galaxy S9. It works fine, although in landscape orientation it sometimes struggles to accurately find your face.

The stretched-out 10.5-inch display covers the majority of the front of the Galaxy Tab S4. This larger display has resulted in a reduction in the bezel surrounding it compared to the outgoing Tab S3, although it isn’t quite as eye-catching as the Infinity Display on the Samsung Galaxy S9. There’s no curve to the panel – which is probably a good thing for a tablet of this size.

Also available with the Tab S4 is a keyboard folio case. It will come free with pre-orders in the UK, and cost £119/$149 thereafter. I’ve only played with the Book Keyboard briefly, so I’ll save my complete thoughts for an update to this review once I’ve spent more time with it.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 – Screen and S-Pen

The screen on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 is utterly gorgeous, and right up there with the iPad Pro 10.5 for having the finest display on any tablet you can buy right now.

Samsung’s big win over Apple is the use of OLED tech, opposed to IPS LCD. OLED is used in some of the best TVs we’ve reviewed this year, and it allows for perfect blacks and striking colours. The panel is HDR-enabled for apps such as Netflix and Prime Video, and it packs a high resolution of 2560 x 1600. Really, it ticks all the boxes.

For watching movies on-the-go there’s simply nothing better. Colours are punchy and bright, viewing angles are wide enough for a couple of people to watch simultaneously, and there’s a good hit of brightness. I did find myself jacking up the brightness to 100% when in sunnier surroundings or on the train in the morning, but turning things down to about 60% will suffice indoors.

I’ve been switching between the Tab S4 and Apple’s iPad Pro 10.5 over the past few days to try to decide which is better, and it’s a tight call.

The Tab S4 is easily better for binge-watching on Netflix, not only because of the punchier panel, but because the 16:10 aspect ratio is better suited to widescreen video.

The iPad Pro, on the other hand, has a 120Hz refresh rate, which makes swiping and scrolling a lot smoother. I’d also say the iPad displays colours slightly more accurately – to my eye anyway – and editing the same photos on both devices in Adobe Lightroom CC was a better experience on the iPad as a result.

Really, it comes down to what you value more in a display.

Galaxy Tab S4 s-pen

Included with the Tab S4 is an S-Pen: a Wacom-powered stylus for doodling and note-taking. Unlike the S-Pen that slides into the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, the version here is chunkier and made completely from plastic – it feels a lot like a felt-tip pen.

Considering how thin this tablet is, there’s nowhere for the S-Pen to live. It would have been nice to see Samsung follow Microsoft’s lead and add in some magnets for sticking the S-Pen to the side. I love this feature on the Surface Pro, and it stops the pen getting lost in your bag.

Not being a particularly great artist myself, I gave the device and stylus to a team member who used to work as an artist to give it a whirl. They found that as a creative tool the Tab S4 is a significant step up on competing Android tablets, such as the 10-inch Huawei MateBook. The S Pen is one of the best tablet styluses around, offering a solid 4096 pressure sensitivity levels and pleasing 0.7 mm rubber tip. The tip gives the pen a degree of resistance when writing on the screen – something that is missing on competing styluses, including the Apple Pencil.

Scribbling in Samsung Notes, the pen was reactive and didn’t suffer any latency. Samsung hasn’t pre-installed any third-party apps for doodling, photo editing or vector work. Testing the pen in Autodesk Sketchbook, Adobe Sketch and Adobe Draw, the pen performed well. Pressure sensitivity levels were accurately read and good enough to comfortably sketch and ink pencils.

Multiple apps support S-Pen input

The only minor annoyance was that S Pen’s quick menu can easily be launched accidentally using the side shortcut button. It would better if you could customise the button’s function on an app-by-app basis. All in all, the combo works well enough to make up for the lack of customisability, however.

If you’re a creative after a mobile touch-up station or sketchpad that isn’t an iPad or Surface, then the Galaxy Tab S4 is a solid choice.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 – Performance, audio and camera

There are four speakers on the Galaxy Tab S4: two along the bottom and two on the top. Each has been ‘tuned’ by AKG – a brand owned by Samsung – and they’re capable of pushing out Dolby Atmos audio.

Enabling the Atmos setting does result in a fairly decent faux-surround feel. However, it sounds a little fake and processed at loud volumes, tending to feel a bit tinny. At least a headphone jack is included.

Inside the Galaxy Tab S4 there’s a Snapdragon 835, 4GB of RAM and, in the UK, 64GB of storage (some regions will get a 256GB option too). A microSD slot is included, so you can expand that further.

In 2017, this would have been a flagship setup. In 2018 it feels slightly limited, though. Especially for the £599 price. 4GB of RAM is tight, and leaves multi-tasking in Dex mode feeling unreliable. I’m less disappointed about the inclusion of the Snapdragon 835, however. Apps run fine, and even games such as Asphalt 9 are fast and smooth.

Cameras are far from the most important part of a tablet, and Samsung hasn’t done much here to show it has focused any time or effort on them. There’s a single 13-megapixel f/1.9 camera on the back, and an 8-megapixel version on the front.

Pictures remind me of those taken with a mid-to-low-end phone, maybe the Galaxy A6 (2018). They’re colourful, with decent detail; they get the job done if the environment is bright. Low-light performance is poor and you’ll likely get better results from your phone. The front 8-megapixel sensor is good for video calls – I was using Google’s Duo app for this – with nice facial details and sufficient brightness.

My review unit came with LTE/4G support, which worked perfectly once I’d added a Three SIM-card inside. It works for phone calls and messages, too. For LTE connectivity you’ll have to pay an extra £50 (£649 as opposed to £599). That seems a fair price and I’d likely choose that option just for the extra freedom you get with 4G.

Android tablets have always felt hamstrung because of the software. Android is great on phones, but poor on anything larger. The lack of updates and support from Google has meant that it’s been up to third-party developers to try to get the job done. Considering there don’t appear to be any tablet-specific features in Android Pie, things look set to continue in this vein.

In an attempt to get around this, Samsung has plucked its Dex interface from the Galaxy S9. Dex is a completely separate UI, which was previously only available when you connected a compatible Samsung phone into a Dex dock and a monitor. It would then let you attach a mouse and keyboard and use the phone like a more traditional desktop PC.

The Dex UI’s strength lies in its windowed interface, which means you can have a few apps open at once. Being able to open Spotify and YouTube, along with Docs, Sheets and a calendar at once, with them all visible, is truly great for productivity.

Apps can be windowed in Dex

Dex is enabled by a toggle in the quick-settings menu. Tap it and, after a couple of seconds, the Windows-esque desktop will appear. Along the bottom you’ll find the usual Android soft-keys plus a selection of running apps and a taskbar incorporating the date, time and other settings. Apps can be dragged anywhere on the desktop, but there’s no support for widgets.

When you open up an Android app in Dex, it appears as a phone-sized window. You can drag this around and open multiple windows at once, or switch to a full-screen view.

While all of Samsung’s own apps work perfectly well in either mode, I’ve come across others that struggle. Netflix, for example, refuses to fill the entire display and remains in a small window, which forces you to return to the standard Android view. I’d guess this is a problem with the app itself, rather than Dex, since other video-streaming apps – YouTube and Prime Video, for example – work fine.

There are other bugs, too. I’ve found that having four or more apps on-screen at once causes slow-down, and if you add a playing video to that it can grind to halt.

There are issues with the keyboard forgetting which apps you want to input text into, and refusing to do anything. You also can’t use Screen-off Memo in Dex or any of the handy S-Pen tools that are normally available. The iris scanner, too, is less reliable in Dex.

Nevertheless, Dex is far better than the standard Android tablet view. Switching back to the regular homescreen shows how unproductive tablets are in general. Putting apps side-by-side is clunky, and having Android fill the whole display just feels a waste of space. Dex is far from perfect (yet), but it solves many of these issues.

I won’t bang on too much about app support on Android tablets, but it could be better. Even Google’s own apps, such as News, are blown-up phone versions with far too much wasted space. It’s a real shame.

While Dex is the star of the show, there are a few other software additions here, too. Daily Board turns the Tab S4 into something akin to the Echo Show: a display that will display calendar appointments, weather and the time. This pops into life when the tablet is attached to a dock (£49.99), or when it’s charging. Bixby is here, too; we’re hoping the slightly dodgy voice assistant receives a substantial update soon.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 – Battery life

Inside the Galaxy Tab S4 you’ll find a 7300mAh battery, which is a decent increase over the 6000mAh cell from the Tab S3. A fast charger is included in the box, via which you’ll be able to get from 0% to 100% in a couple of hours.

In our standard array of battery tests, the Tab S4 did well. Starting from a fully charged cell, it went from 100% to 91% after an hour of HDR streaming video from Netflix. It lost a further 8% after an hour of standard HD Netflix video, and then 5% playing a video stored on the device. These results are just about on a par with those achieved by the iPad Pro 10.5 running the same tests.

Where the Tab S4, and most Android tablets, fall down is in standby time. Leaving the Tab S4 unplugged overnight saw a 9% drop. The iPad Pro dropped just 3% in the same time. This means you’ll need to keep more of an eye on the battery if you tend to leave a tablet in your bag all the time.

Why buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4?

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 is the best Android tablet you can buy. It’s pricey, but for the money you get a stunning screen, and as someone who watches a lot of videos on a tablet, I’d happily spend extra for a panel this colourful and sharp. I’m not sure this is a great buy for those wanting a tablet just for web-browsing, a bit of gaming and the odd Netflix watch on a train, however.

The S-Pen is good, Dex makes Android workable on a tablet, and battery life is on a par with the competition. I’d like more RAM and maybe a metal rear rather than glass – but those are my biggest issues.

The Tab S4’s most significant rival is the iPad Pro 10.5 (£619/$619), but you’ll have to buy the Apple Pencil (£89/$99) separately. It might also be worth waiting to see what the iPad Pro 3 has to offer.

Still, if you want a high-end Android tablet then the Tab S4 is the device to get.

바덴바덴은 온천이 엄청유명하다!

도시이름도 바덴바덴!

바덴바덴에는 두개의 큰 온천이 있음!

하나는 홀딱 벚고 남녀혼탕인 부끄러운 온천과

하나는 수영복을 입고 갈 수있는 온천!!

우리는 당연히 수영복을 입고 갈 수있는

카라칼라온천으로 갔음!

주차장으로 바로가서 사진이 없당 ㅠㅜ

어차피 안에서도 사진은 못 찍으니깐

카메라는 놓고 갔음!

데충 씻을 세면도구랑

수영복!

타올만 챙겨서 입장!

가격은

2시간에 15유로

3시간에 18유로

4시간에 21유로

놀다가 시간이 자나도 상관없다~

나중에 돈을 더 내면 되니깐!

10분에 50센트!!!

카라칼라는 물마사지 받기 좋은 곳!

야외에 풀이 2개가 있는데

하나는 물안마가 팡팡나오는 따뜻한물

하나는 물이 빙글빙글 돌아가게 해놔서

개수영 할 줄알면 시간가는 줄 모르는 미지근한물!

실내도 야외도 수영 할만한 곳은 없음~

다들 않아서

서서 스트레칭하고

쉬는 분위기임~

우리는 4시간짜리였는데 살짝 지루해서

썬베드에 누워서 한시간 정도 잤음!

남자친구는 다리를 안 덮어서

씨꺼매졌음 ㅋㅋㅋ

열굴은 가리고 자서 다행임!!

그리고 일어나서 간단하게 샌드위치 사먹고

다시 안마 하다가 나옴!

온천 갈 때마다 깐빡깜빡하는거...

면봉챙기기 ㅠㅜㅠㅜㅠ

귀가 찝찝해

로션만 바르고 머리도 대충;;

시내구경갔어요!

여기 모카 아이스크림...너무좋아

강가에 옹기종기 모인 집들이

너무 예쁘다 ㅠㅜ

오빠랑 사진도 찍고!

오빠 눈썹이 많이 내려갔네

옛시청사도 있지만!!

당장 먹으로 젤 오래된 맥주집으로!!!

저거다!!!우리도 저거 똑같이 주문 ㅋㅋㅋ

이름도 몰라요

그냥 옆에 사람한테 맛있냐고 물어 봤는데

맛있데요 ㅋㅋㅋ

그래서 바로 고고!!

정식으로 취업을 해서
직장을 다니고 있어용:-)

아쭈비때는 왤케 시간이 안 가나 했는데
지금은 휵휵 잘만 지나가요 시간이..

요번에는 취업비자를 받은
얘기를 해볼까합니다!

일단 저는 3번째 시험을 보고
바로 직장을 찾았어요.

그니깐 졸업 전에
이미 계약서를 썼습니당•.•

공백 없이 일을 하려면
계산을 아주 잘~~~해야되요!

일단 시험 끝날 쯤 해서 비자청예약을 해둬야 시간 낭비가 없어요!

공백이 있어도 물론 큰 문제는 없지만
저는 보험이 젤 걱정이였어요!
학생 신분이거나 아쭈비 신분이면
보험이 싸요!
즉 졸업을 하면 보험이 배로 비싸져요;
회사와 반반 냈던 보험비가
나 혼자서 내야되고
근데 또 그걸 배로 내야되니깐 ㅠㅜ

그리고 내년엔 마이스터 슐레를
갈 생각이 있어서
바로 취업하기로 결정했어요!

3번째 시험보기 전에 일단
모든 서류를 준비해 뒀어요!
마지막 시험이 남아있으니
시간도 정신도 없을 듯해서..

뭐 특별한건 없었고!

자기소개서
이력서
상 받은거
등등

나를 어필할 만한 걸로
지원서를 썼어요!

물론 이력서나 자기소개서 쓸때
엄청 정성드려서 만들었어요ㅋㅋ

그리고 휴가를 썼어요!
3번째 시험 끝나는 주에
1주일!!!!

저에겐 저 1주일이 젤 바빴던것 같아요
지원서 넣고 (직접 다녔어요)
프로베아르바이트 하고

다행히 프로베아르바이트가 끝나고
사장님께서 꽃다발을 주시며
같이 일해보자고 ㅠㅜ
연봉이랑 일하는 시간
등등을 간단히 얘기하고
계약서 만들 시간을 달라고하셔서
그 다음주에 잠깐 와서 싸인하기로!

그래서 저는 비자청에 내야되는 서류를
사장님께 먼저 드리고
이게 있어야 9월달 부터
일을 시작할 수 있다!
계약서 쓰러오는날 까지 작성해 달라!!
요렇게 말씀드리고 나왔어요"."
다행히 외국인 직원이 많은 가게라
당연히 써주신다고^^

그 다음주에 잠깐 가서 계약서 쓰고
서류와 사장님이 비자청에 써주신
편지!!!!!
말하지 않아도 이렇게
신경써 주시니 완전 감동
편지 내용은 꼭 내가 필요하다..
이 가게에.....힝

깔끔 하게 준비된 서류 들고
예약한 시간에 비지청방문!
결과는 졸업시험 끝나고
졸업장을 들고 오라고;;

제가 취업비자를 받으려면
오래 걸릴거란 생각에 마지막 시험을 2주 앞두고 비자테민을 잡았어요!
적어도 한달은 넘게 걸릴것 같아서ㅠㅜ
졸업장이 없어 빠꾸 먹었는데!

베암터가 졸업시험 끝나고
졸업장이랑 서류를 우편으로 보내면
자기내들이 연락을 주겠다고!!!
그래서 어디로 보내면 되나용?
비자청 주소로 그냥 보내면 된다고!!

와 이런 방법도 있구나*.*

그래서 졸업시험이 끝난 다음날!
합격했다는 증명서?
합격 증명서 복사본
회사에서 써준 서류 2장과
사장님이 써주신 편지
학교 졸업 성적표 복사본

이렇게 편지를
einschreiben으로 보냈어요!

그리고 나서 졸업식을 보러온 부모님과 함께 여행을 떠났습니다!

2주동안 즐거운 여행을 끝내고
베를린으로 돌아왔는데..
아무소식이 없더라고요;;
그래서 그 다음날 비자청 방문!
한 한시간 정도 기다려서
베암터랑 얘기를 나눴는데
더 기다려야 한다고^^
이메일로 연락이 갈꺼라고+.+

그랭 더 기다려보자.....

그리고 2주 뒤에도 연락이 없어서
베를린에 사는 동생이 알려준
비지청 이메일로 연락을 했는데!!!
바로 답장이 왔어요!!!!!
(비자청 홈페이지에 있는 이메일주소로연락했어요!)

이메일 보냈다고 다시 확인해 보라고!
확인을 해보니 진짜 와있어 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

그래서 그 다음날 바로 비자청으로•.•
Wartenummer는 안 주고 그냥
Öffnungszeiten에 와서
번호표 받으라고;;

비자청이 늦게 까지
일하는날 1시쯤 갔는데
사람이 거의 없다!!
줄도 안 서고 베암터 접선:-)

필요한 서류 보여주고 바로 비자나옴요
ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
2020년까지!!!
2020년이 오긴 하는구나...

취업비자 3년 받았습니당^^
일단 비자 걱정이 끝나서
너무 좋아요!!!!!!

취업비자나 아우스빌둥비자
둘 다 필요한 서류가
똑같아요!
하나 다른건! 취업비자는
Kontostand를
Nachweisen 안 해도 된다는거에요!
왜냐면 이제 안정되고 일정한 수입이
계속 들어온다는것! 요것 때문이에요!!

아우스빌둥은 월급을 받지만
한달 생활이 불가능한 돈이라
월급 외에 한국에서 돈을 받는다,
나는 월급이 적어도
콘토에 돈이 넉넉히 있다!
이걸 보여줘야해요.

일단 저는 취업비자를 받아서
9월1일부터 정식 출근을 했답니다:-)

지인들 모임을 위해 이런 저런 조건들을 달고 한참 리서치한 끝에 찾아낸 레스토랑 La Argentina. 모이는 시간이 애매해서 배가 부른 사람은 그냥 가볍게 한 잔 하고, 배고픈 사람은 든든하면서 맛있는 무엇인가를 먹을 수 있는 곳이어야 하고, 이야기하기 좋게 음악은 시끄럽지 않아야 한다. 조명이 너무 밝아도 안 되지만 너무 격식을 차린 곳이여서도 안 된다. 결정적으로 가장 힘들었던 조건은 이 모든 것을 만족시키면서 가격이 착해야 한다는 것.

이런 이율배반적인 조건을 다 클리어한다는게 얼마나 어려운지 리서치하면서 새삼 알게 되었다. 지인들 모임을 위해 레스토랑을 찾고 답사하는건 늘 즐겁게 하는 일이고, 대부분 비슷비슷한 사람들이 모이기 때문에 장소를 정하는데 오래 걸리지 않는 편이다. 하지만 이번처럼 취향과 연령대의 스펙트럼이 넓은 경우 마치 어려운 퍼즐을 푸는 것 같아서, 이곳을 발견했을 때의 기쁨은 평소보다 훨씬 컸던 것 같다.

내가 갔을 때는 정오였는데도 실내는 딱 와인 마시기 좋게 세팅되어 있었다. 모든 테이블 위에 글라스가 영롱하게 빛나고 노란 조명등이 아늑한 느낌을 자아낸다. 처음엔 가게가 작다고 생각했는데 뒤쪽에 홀이 크게 있었다.

아르헨티나라는 테마가 떠올랐던 건 얼마전에 갔던 친구 결혼식에서 같은 테이블에 앉았던 아르헨티나 아저씨 때문이다. 은행에 다니는 사람이였는데 내가 지금까지 만났던 모든 은행원들과 분위기가 달랐다. 여유롭고, 소박하고, 따뜻했다. 그러면서 식도락에 대해서 이야기할 때는 아이처럼 눈을 반짝이는 것을 보고 아르헨티나라는 나라에 대한 긍정적인 편견이 생겨버린 것이다.

점심메뉴를 시켰는데 12유로에 애피타이져, 메인, 디져트까지 나온다. 와인은 분명 메뉴판에 가벼운 와인이라고 해서 시켰는데 금방 취해버렸다. 진하지는 않은데 마시다보면 머리 속에 있는 뭔가가 끊어지는 느낌? 나른해지고 힘이 빠진 상태로 흐물흐물해져 있을 때 옥수수퓨레가 나왔다. 양은 메인요리 수준. 전체적으로 양을 60퍼센트로 줄여도 될 것 같은데 배가 고프다는 말은 안 나오게 하겠다는 주인장의 의지인지 철학인지, 덕분에 저녁은 안 먹어도 될 것 같다.

역시 아르헨티나,하면 소고기 스테이크. 점심 메뉴라 고기와 야채를 함께 꼬치에 꿰서 그릴을 했는데 고기맛이 일품이였다. 소스도 처음 맛보는 맛인데 무슨 베이스인지 미감이 둔한 나로선 알 길이 없었지만 굉장히 맛있었다. 무엇보다 와인과의 궁합이 정말 좋아서 마치 와인을 위해서 요리가 만들어진 것 같았다.

마지막 디저트는 부드럽고 달콤한 견과류 반죽이 들어있는 쵸코볼. 음식마다 다 이름이 있을텐데 점심메뉴는 메뉴판 없이 웨이터가 구술할 뿐이라 지금 이름을 댈 수 있는 것이 하나도 없다. 안 그래도 와인 때문에 헤롱거리는데 단 것이 들어오니 바로 침대에 기어들어가 한 숨 자고 싶다는 생각이 들었다.

저녁시간은 예약하지 않고 가면 자리를 얻기 힘들다고 한다. 충분히 그럴만하다.

오랫만에 맛집리뷰입니다!

드디어 독일레스토랑을 리뷰하게 되었네요. 이번에 방문한 곳은 프랑크푸르트 시내에 위치한 Paulaner am Dom 입니다.

프랑크푸르트 대성당 Frankfurt Cathedral 바로 옆에 위치한 맥주로 유명한 Paulaner 맥주브랜드 레스토랑입니다.

우선 결론적으로 먼저 말씀드리면 맛 훌륭합니다. 특히 학센이 프랑크푸르트 근처에서 먹어본 학센중에 손에 꼽을정도로 훌륭합니다.

맛을 디테일하게 설명하자면 학센의 문제는 돼지 비린맛이 날 수도 있는 것인데 여기 학세는 비린맛이 없습니다. 그리고 튀긴다음에 학센을 불로 다시 구운 것 같습니다. 그래서 살짝 훈제한 맛이 껍질을 더 바삭바삭하게 하여 껍질부분이 기가막히게 맛있었습니다.

저희가 주문한 메뉴는 옥토버페스트 메뉴였는데 학센, 송아지 소세지, 슈니젤, 구운감자, 감자떡, 작은 셀러드와 3가지 소스가 함께 있는 메뉴였습니다. 아래 양은 2인분으로 한국사람 기준으로 3명이 시켜서 충분히 배부르게 먹을 수 있었습니다. 송아지 소세지도 비리지 않고 부드럽고 맛있었구요 슈니젤은 좀 탄 느낌으로 조금 아쉬운.

Paulaner 생맥주 종류입니다. 저는 Paulaner Premium이라는 프리미엄 이라는 단어때문에 선택한 필스였는데 맛은 알콜향이 강한 맛이라 제 취향은 아니었습니다.

개인적인 추천은 역시 Weizen 을 추천합니다. Paulaner 는 역시 Weizen 맥주가 최고입니다.

프랑크푸르트 시내에서 걸어서 10분내로 갈 수 있는 학세를 먹고 싶으신 분들에게 강추합니다.

외국인 의사들: 직업으로써의 오래걸리는 방법

Viele syrische Ärzte sind vor dem Bürgerkrieg in ihrem Land geflohen und wollen nun in Deutschland wieder in ihrem Beruf arbeiten. Aber hier kämpfen sie oft mit Problemen, weil ihre Ausbildung nicht anerkannt wird.

많은 시리아 의사들은 그들 나라에서의 내전으로부터 떠났고 지금 독일에서 다시 그들의 직업으로 일하기를 원한다. 하지만 그들은 여기(독일)에서 자주 문제와 싸운다 왜냐하면 그들의 경력은 인정되지 않기 때문이다.

Shekho ist syrischer Arzt für Innere Medizin. Er kommt aus Aleppo. Von dort ist er vor drei Jahren nach Deutschland geflohen. In Neumünster hat er eine Stelle in einer Spezialklinik für Flüchtlingegefunden. Aber jetzt kann er dort nicht mehr arbeiten.

Shekho는 시리아인 내과 의사이다. 그는 Aleppo에서 왔다. 거기(Aleppo)에서 그는 3년간 독일로 도망쳐왔다. Neumünster에서 그는 난민들을 위한 특별병동에서 직장을 얻었다. 하지만 그는 거기(특별병동)에서 더이상 일을 할 수 없다.

Das Problem: Shekhos Ausbildung wird hier nicht anerkannt, denn das deutsche und das syrische Ausbildungssystem sind zu unterschiedlich. Um in Deutschland als Arzt zu arbeiten, müssen die Ärzte zuerst noch beweisen, wie gut sie ausgebildet sind. Dafür müssen sie an einem achtmonatigen Kurs teilnehmen und am Ende eine Prüfung ablegen. Auf einen Prüfungstermin müssen sie oft viele Monate warten. Und bis dahin dürfen sie nicht mehr arbeiten.

문제는 Shekhos의 경력이 여기에서 인정이 되지 않는 것이다 왜냐하면 독일과 시리아의 교육시스템이 다르기 때문이다. 독일에서 의사로서 일하기 위해 의사들은 먼저 그들이 교육이 얼마나 좋은지 증명해야 한다. 그것을 위해 그들은 8개월간 수업에 참여해야하고 마지막에 시험을 쳐야한다. 한 시험일정에 그들은 자주 많은 달을 기다려야 한다. 그리고 그들은 그 기간에 일하는 것이 더이상 허락되지 않는다.

Doch das deutsche Gesundheitssystem braucht medizinisches Fachpersonal aus dem Ausland. Die Bevölkerung wird immer älter, viele Ärzte gehen in Rente, und es gibt zu wenige junge Ärzte. Klinikdirektor Ivo Markus Heer hatte neben Shekho drei weitere syrische Ärzte eingestellt, denn in der Nähe des Krankenhauses wohnen fast 1000 Flüchtlinge. Shekho kann mit den Patienten Kurdisch, Arabisch, Englisch oder sogar Deutsch sprechen. Viele syrische Patienten suchen syrische Ärzte, um sich behandeln zu lassen. Und auch Heer findet seine syrischen Kollegen medizinisch qualifiziert und kompetent.

하지만 독일의 건강시스템은 외국인으로부터의 의료전문인력이 필요하다. 국민들은 항상 나이를 더 먹고 많은 의사들은 은퇴(연금을 받게 되고)하고, 그리고 너무 적은 젋은 의사들만 있다. 병원장 Ivo Markus Heer는 Shekho 외에 3명의 시리아인 의사들을 고용했다 왜냐하면 병원 근처에 거의 1000명의 난민들이 살기 때문이다. Shekho는 쿠르드어, 아랍어, 영어 게다가 독일어로도 대화할 수 있다. 많은 시리아 환자들은 시리아 의사를 찾는다. 그리고 Heer 또한 그의 시리아 동료들을 의료적으로 검증되고 능력이 있다고 여긴다.

Weil aber zwei der vier syrischen Ärzte Probleme mit der Zulassung haben und nicht mehr arbeiten dürfen, musste Klinikdirektor Heer die Spezialklinik schließen. Er ist enttäuscht. Seiner Meinung nach fehlt der politische Wille, das Problem zu lösen. Der Zulassungsprozess für ausländische Ärzte ist zu bürokratisch, sagt Heer. Shekho hat jetzt erst einmal keine Arbeit mehr. Das beunruhigt ihn. „Es ist wirklich schwierig. Vorher war ich hier auch arbeitslos, und das war normal. Aber jetzt ist es hart. Ich schlafe nicht mehr“, erzählt er.

왜냐하면 시리아 의사들에 4명중 2명은 허가를 갖는데 문제가 있고 일하는것이 더이상 허락되지 않기 때문에 그 병원장 Heer의 특별 병동은 문을 닫아야했다. 그는 실망했다. 그의 의견은 정치가들이 문제를 해결하는 정치가들의 의견이 부족하다는 것이다. 외국인 의사들의 허가프로세스가 너무 관료주의라고 Heer는 말한다. Shekho는 지금 처음으로 일자리가 없는 것이 아니다. 그것을 그는 걱정한다. 이건 정말 어렵다. 난느 이전에도 직장을 잃었었고 그것은 보통이다. 하지만 이것은 어렵다. 나는 더이상 잠을 잘 수 없다. 라고 그는 설명했다.

일요일에 프랑크푸르트 시내에서 점심을 먹고 노트북으로 잡다한 작업을 할 분위기 좋은 카페를 찾고 있었습니다.

프랑크푸르트 시내에서 밥을 먹고 배부른 상태에서 적당히 산책도 할 겸 시내에서 조금 떨어진 곳으로 걸으며 찾은 Cafe Laumer.

이 카페는 프랑크푸르트에서 맛있는 케익으로 유명한 집이라고 하였습니다.

카페의 첫인상은 좋았습니다. 입구로 들어가면 구운 향긋한 빵 향기가 나는 기분좋은 카페였습니다.

입구에서 보이는 많은 케잌들입니다.

분위기는 조용한 분위기는 아니지만 사람들과 잡담하면서 편하게 있을 수 있는 분위기였습니다.

좋은 점은 유럽느낌의 카페이고 맛잇는 케익을 먹을 수 있다는 점.

아쉬운 점은 WiFi 가 없다는 점이었습니다.

제희가 먹은 케익은 딸기 케잌이었는데 맛은 한국케잌의 부드러운 느낌과는 다른 질감이 조금 단단한 느낌의 달콤한 맛이었습니다.

벽에 위치한 자리 곳곳에는 케이블을 꽂을 수 있는 콘센트가 있어서 노트북으로 작업하기에는 괜찮은 곳이었습니다.

WiFi가 꼭 중요하지 않다면 친구들과 함께 와서 커피한잔에 달콤한 케익을 먹으며

과제를 하거나 스터디모임을 하면서 토론도 할 수 있는 그러한 분위기의 카페입니다.

○ 비자 발급 요건

독일 내 연구기관, 기업, 공공단체등에서의 영리 활동에 대해 외국인관청에서 노동계약서에 따른 고용기간 범위 내에서 비자 발급

○ 구비서류

- 체류허가신청서(소정양식 별첨)
- 직업상세서(소정양식 별첨)
- 현 노동계약서 (또는 임용계약서)
- 학적증명서 / 졸업증명서(영어 또는 독일어번역)
- 재정증명서(명확한 수입이 명시된)
- 의료보험가입증명서(독일보험회사 또는 국제인정보험회사)
- 거주임차계약서 (Mietvertrag)
- 사회보험 규정 관련하는 활동에 관한 증명 (Nachweis für Sozialversicherungspflichtige Beschäftigung)

- 발급기간은 약 6주~8주정도가 소요되는 바, 신청자와 비자신청업무 대리업소는 소요기간을 감안하여 비자가 최소한 8주 이상 유효할 때 취업비자를 신청해야 하며, 비자 유효 잔여기간이 8주미만인 경우에는 외국인관청에서 임시비자증명서(Fiktionsbescheinigung)를 발급 받게 됨
- 외국인관청에서는 연방노동청에서 승인하는 기간 이상의 비자를 발급할 수 없음
- 연구원으로 독일 연구소나 대학에서 일하기를 원할 경우, 제출서류에 관한 정보는‘연구장학생 및 연구원을 위한 비자’안내문 참조
- 남편이나 아내 또는 16세 이하 자녀를 동반하는 것은 허용됨. 비자신청 관련 제출서류에 관한 정보는‘가족동반비자’ 안내문 참조
- 독일에서 대학을 졸업한 외국인 학생들에게 취업을 위한 별도의 체류허가를 노동청의 승인 조건하에 18개월간 허용할 수 있도록 규정하고는 있으나 확실한 고용계약 없이는 체류자격의 변경이 불가능함
- 예외적으로 우수한 학자(대졸이상의 과학자, 엔지니어, 연구원)나 IT전문가들에게는 처음부터 무기한 체류허가 즉, 영주허가가 교부됨
